How to contribute?

There are three basic ways you can contribute to MobiLiberty.com. Here is a very brief summary followed by a further explanation:

1. Via RSS:

If you already have a blog on which you sometimes talk about Free Software and standards powered mobile devices (e.g. open mobiles or GNU/Linux phones) we offer you an easy way to get your entries published through mobiLiberty.com. This, however, requires that your blog has tagging support with an RSS feed for each tag (or category). WordPress.com supports this, and we have the RSS of our tag from it already.

  • 1. Mark posts you wish to publish through mobiLiberty.com with a "mobiliberty" tag
  • 2. Submit the RSS feed of this tag here

Click here if you'd like to see more about how submissions via RSS work.

This way you can easily control which posts you wish us to consider publishing (by marking them with our tag). We then receive your entries via RSS, and once approved publish them through our site. The entry on mobiLiberty.com will in most cases display only the introductory part of your post and provide a link to your blog for more. Visitors are able to comment on your story either here on mobiLiberty.com or on your blog.

If you don't feel comfortable tagging your posts as "mobiliberty" you can tag it with some other to us relevant tag (which you may already be doing) and give us an RSS feed for that.

If your blog doesn't support tagging you can submit an RSS feed of your whole blog and then we can try to extract the relevant entries and publish those.

2. Submit story:

This is a classic way of submitting a story to our site. You can either submit a story you already posted somewhere else or an interesting (and relevant) story you found somewhere, providing us with a scoop and a link to original.

You can also write a story for mobiLiberty.com if you wish and submit it in whole. This is greatly appreciated.

3. Start blogging for mobiLiberty.com:

If you like what we're about and would like to contribute on a regular basis you can opt for joining and blogging about relevant topics on mobiLiberty.com itself.

At first your entries will have to be approved by staff, but as we become convinced that your entries are trustful and of good quality we will add you to our blogging team allowing you to blog freely about any relevant subject.

Thank you for your contributions!
